About Me

I am a Film Production student at Derby University and am currently about to go into the second year of that. I am a blogger, YouTuber, food fanatic, TV addict and alcoholic. Here are some questions people who want to know more about me have asked.

Why did you start blogging/ What inspired you to start blogging?
I started blogging because I wanted a change in my life and I think being a writer and putting it out for people to see helped me with a lot of my confidence issues and because I wanted to tell people how I am doing in a wide audience. I don't have any inspirations but I know I wanted a change with my life. I just didn't know what.
At what age did you start blogging?
I started blogging when I was 16 just after I started uploading videos to YouTube.
Who is your favourite blogger?
I don't tend to have favourites when it comes to blogging and YouTube but the blog which showed me that I could do the same was Louise Pentland's blog (http://sprinkleofglitter.blogspot.co.uk/) and I think looking at how much she has gone through is really empowering to see so I think she is probably my favourite blogger.
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
That really is a tough question for me because I want to travel the world. I think if I were to choose anywhere, I think I would choose Los Angeles or Hawaii because I have always wanted to go to America and these two are on my list of top places to visit. They are also beautiful and I would love to watch a sunset from both of those places in the night time and visit landmarks and the city in the day.
Do you daydream?
I don't think I have ever daydreamed, to be honest. I dream more than anything but I also have nightmares so there is a balance and I write every dream that I remember down just so I look back on them and read what I wrote at 4 am half asleep about how I put on a dance show for hundreds of people for no apparent reason.
What's your favourite film?
Again this is a really hard one because I love films with my heart. Being a film student, not everyone agrees with what you say is your favourite film and when learning on a film course, you see films in a different way. My favourite film when I was in Year 8 is not one of my favourites now just looking at the writing and how it is shot. So after all that waffle, I think my favourite film would be La La Land because the story is different to those I have seen and it is beautifully shot. I have never seen a scene when Ryan Gosling is walking down a pier in the sunset like anything else and it warms my heart every time I see it.
What do you want to do when you leave University?
You should never ask a University student that because we do not even know. Hell, don't ask a film student because we have no entire clue what we will do. It takes so long to get into the film industry so I hope to get myself a job as a runner on film sets and work up from there. I am going to travel the world for a year though after University so I can see the sights of the world before I have to get a boring job to be able to live.
I am also going to be hopefully living in the US for a year when I have enough money to. I really want to do this to be able to give myself chance to learn more in a different country and try and learn more about the film business in the heart of the career.

The Last Year

So it's a new school year but this time for me, it's different. This year is all about getting the grades to be able to go to University next year. To cherish the memories I will make in the next year. I've started this blog because I love to write and I want to be able to do this weekly. Just touching on what's happened in the week and what's made me smile. Over the past few weeks, I have been on a roller-coaster of emotions. A lot of them were not good feelings and although some of those still remain, I am happy for once. I am happy because of the support I have from friends and family when telling them the problems I have and will be facing in the coming months. It's quite hard when you cannot tell anyone what you really feel when they ask how you are. You don't want to tell them to bring their mood down but you need to talk to someone. But right now, that is over with and i am enjoying the life I have. I am getting help for the problems I am faci

Moving Out: 1 Year On

Now I waited a little bit after the 30th June to write this post (a month basically) mainly because I moved out of halls and into a house and basically I was busy with finding jobs and doing bits on the side and have been very M.I.A with my blog at the moment and I apologise so here is a long blog post about what happened after I moved out and where I am today and how I got here. So I left home (my Nan's house) on the 30th June 2016. That day was so hard for me. Leaving a place I called home was really scary but I knew at that point in my life I had to do it there and then. I waited with a friend and I stayed at his house for a few nights while I sorted things out and where I was going to stay and things like that. I was going to be moving into halls on September 10th that year for University so I had about 2-3 months to figure out where I would be staying and how I would get all my stuff for University with no job and no home. After a few days at that friend’s house, I was abl

I CHANGED MY BLOG?

Now I know what you may be thinking and that is probably, why is Katy now writing her blog posts on Wordpress? I have been thinking about moving from Blogger for a while now and I saw a Tweet saying they were thinking of moving over to Wordpress too and so I decided to finally do it.  Blogger has been in my life for nearly 2 years and while it is a good site for Blogging, I needed a change and somewhere where I could explore my creativity more as an adult and be able to use a site where I could input my own made creations onto my own blog.  I made my first blog post on Blogger back in December 2015 when I was 17 and now that I'm 19, I knew I needed to make the transition with my blog but I didn't know how and I definitely didn't know when. So no, I haven't changed my blog at all, I have just changed the site where it is hosted. I will still keep my Blogger site up and live for people to see my old posts but this post will both be on my Blogger and Wordpress blogs.
